The Intake section receives all pleadings relating to the jurisdiction of this court. It accepts those that conform to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Local Rules of this court and identifying those that do not. It also responds to telephone inquiries and counter requests from members of the bar and the general public, regarding the rules and procedures of this court, case information, etc. The Intake section is responsible for opening new civil cases transferred from other districts, issuing summonses, writs, abstracts of judgment, etc. and accepting pleadings for filing in civil, criminal and bankruptcy cases.
